Welcome to Saint Vital Parish
We are a very diverse Roman Catholic parish of over 350 families in the Fort Garry neighborhood of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada!
The origins of our parish date back to 1861 when Bishop Tache built a small schoolhouse on the east side of the Red River and entrusted it to the Grey Nuns, who then had a small chapel built inside the school. Since then we’ve grown to become a diverse community that includes the parish, a daycare, nursery school and the largest Catholic co-educational school in the Archdiocese of Winnipeg, St. Maurice.
