Feast of Corpus Christi, Procession, picnic & the Parish 100th Anniversary
What a beautiful day we had last Sunday! Archbishop Gagnon celebrated the 11:30 AM Mass, Fr. Barry and Fr. Vincent concelebrated, our procession took a longer route than we’ve done in past years and was very special, and the picnic was a blast! There are so many people and organizations to thank for making the day as special as it was: Archbishop Gagnon for celebrating Mass with us and then staying for the picnic, the Winnipeg Police Service for guiding our procession, the liturgical ministries, the members of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and the people who carried our 100th anniversary banner in the procession, the 1st Communion children who threw flower pedals as part of the procession, the Knights of Columbus for BBQ’ing hamburgers and hotdogs for picnic, the CWL for organizing the potluck, the Giant Tiger store at 2195 Pembina Hwy for providing all of the food, drinks, condiments and supplies at a discounted price, Alex Jay Hamm the balloon artist, BounceARoo for the bouncy castle and of course everyone who attended – thank you for being there. And thanks be to God for the beautiful weather! We will do it again next year, Sunday June 7th. We truly are a parish that is rooted and built up in Jesus Christ, firm in the faith.
As we continue to celebrate our 100th anniversary as a parish this year, we will be planning a tree planting ceremony in the Fall. Please watch the bulletin for more information.
